Now a rare find in the market - this Georgian-era suite of a ring, drop earrings and brooch was such a treat for us to find!  The paste emeralds and rose cut "diamonds" are so realistic - a true testament to the artisans who crafted these jewels as meticulously as they would have real gems.

Originally developed by Parisian jeweler Georg Friedrich Strass,  he created pastes by using leaded glass to create imitation gemstones in the 1730s. His invention, which became known as "Strass," was a game-changer for the era, offering equally a beautiful and affordable alternative to expensive diamonds and colored gemstones, jewels reserved for the upper class.

Paste jewelry was and is highly valued for its beauty and craftsmanship, and many pieces, including black dot and foiled paste, continue to be highly prized today.
