An antique coin holder pendant, monogrammed with "SHI" on the front! A bold, locket-like form with beaded details throughout the shoulders and a sapphire cabochon adorning the top. The monogrammed initials (in green gold!) are surrounded by a wreath of thorns, offering up plenty of character (and patina!). And this is a rare find in gold (and hefty too) as most were in silver or gold filled.

What are locket coin holders?
These antique coin lockets were popular from the Victorian era through the early 20th century. They used hinged or screw-top closures to keep treasured coins safe and on display. People could open the pendant, place a gold, silver, or ancient coin inside, and show off coins from Roman, Greek, or European backgrounds. As more people traveled and collected coins, these pendants became a secure and stylish way to display their finds.
