While this diamond came to us as-is, we suspect that this might have been recut previously.   My opinion is that this diamond is from the Georgian era due to the faceting style and depth and possibly repolished to remove nicks and chips along the girdle.  Having said all that, I was very excited to acquire this for my collection because I just LOVE this charming this diamond!  Its everything we love about old cuts - rustic, charming, and perfectly imperfect.  In my eyes - she's a 10 out of 10!  Bright and prismatic, and with the added bonus of facing up closer to a 4ct.  What a great piece of jewelry she would make (perhaps in a collect inspired setting so its truer to the stone's age?).  A true one of a kind diamond.
