Beautiful and faithful antique reproduction piece, depicting a bird in flight. Birds (most commonly swallows and doves) were very popular themes in antique jewelry. Swallows (as this brooch is) symbolize being led home (as swallows are believed to lead ships at sea to land) or the safe return from a journey.

This brooch features chunky rose cut diamonds which shimmer beautifully with each movement - she's perfect as-is, but I do think she would look equally beautiful hung on a yellow or rose gold chain, and worn at an angle on the decolletage. A wonderful, meaningful piece of jewelry with a beautiful meaning to boot.

  • 1.80ctw of rose cut diamond H/I/J colors, SI clarities, with 2 faceted emerald eyes (GIA standards).
