Jean Dinh Van is a French jeweler known for his minimalist, modern approach to fine jewelry. He got his start working for Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1950s, where he honed his craft in traditional high jewelry. But Dinh Van had a different vision—he wanted to create everyday luxury pieces that were sleek, simple, and wearable. In 1965, he left Van Cleef & Arpels to start his own brand, bringing a fresh, contemporary edge to jewelry design. His signature styles, like the square ring and the lock-inspired clasp, became instant classics.
Today, collectors seek out Dinh Van’s early work for Van Cleef because of its historical significance, timeless appeal, and the fact that his influence helped push fine jewelry into a new era of modern design.
