The most charming antique scarf slide, studded in rose cuts and engraved on the inside “1872.” Scarf slides, while not nearly as popular these days, were a beautiful way to add a romantic adornment to your outfit in a simple and easy way! The diamonds and black enamel detail along the front depict an image of the Lion of St Mark - a figure that is associated with Saint Mark. According to ancient legend, Mark had been visited in a dream by an angel which took form of a winged lion. The lion is a symbol that represents power, pride and courage, with emphasis on the Resurrection power.
