The diamond is a vintage Tycoon cut diamond — cut initially in 2004 (engraved with the original GIA certification number and dated as such). And we love it so because of its unique faceting pattern, a mesmerizing mix of the asscher cut diamond and criss cut diamond styles. Crisp, clear, and just so incredibly bright and prismatic. Looking down upon the diamond is such a treat — like looking at a tide pool. Set in our custom handcrafted yellow gold setting with white-tipped prongs, she is elegant and sexy — the perfect vintage diamond ring in a contemporary designer setting.

A patented and trademarked cut, Tycoon cut diamonds are known for their iconic "diamond within a diamond" design, featuring a diamond-shaped table (top facet). Invented in 1999 by the Kejejian cousins, this rare collector cut is a mixed-cut diamond with nine crown facets and 20 step-cut pavilion facets — designed to enhance brilliance, fire, and clarity, especially when compared to traditional emerald cut diamonds. The cut combines a stepped pavilion with a more brilliant-style faceting on the crown, giving it exceptional light return and depth. These cuts command a premium in the market and are coveted among vintage diamond collectors.
