A patented and trademarked cut, Tycoon cut diamonds are known for their unique "diamond within a diamond" design, which features a diamond-shaped table (top facet). Invented in 1999 by the Kejejian cousins, it's a mixed-cut with nine crown facets and 20 step-cut pavilion facets, designed to enhance brilliance, color, and clarity, particularly when compared to traditional emerald cuts. The cut combines a stepped pavilion with a more brilliant-style faceting on the crown. These cuts do command a premium in the market.
This pair is vintage, having been initially cut back in 2004, and simply resent to GIA for a fresh certificate.
