After nearly five years of love and adventure (and a couple months of unsuccessful proposal attempts and Shaun moving the ring around to different hiding spots in the house), Shaun pulled out all the stops for a proposal that swept Nina (and all of us!) off her feet. According to Shaun in the Vogue coverage of their engagement, Nina is incredibly organized and, therefore, “rarely surprised, but she loves being surprised!” In order to make sure Nina didn’t see it coming, Shaun had a publicist fake an invitation to an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan restaurant in NYC. But instead of a fashionable date with Wintour, Nina found Shaun waiting under an arch of white roses, ready to pop the big question!
