A Romantic Proposal & a Timelessly Elegant Engagement Ring

Model girlfriend and basketball star boyfriend feels like a match made in heaven - and such is the case for the beautiful Winnie Harlow and her new fiancé, Kyle Kuzma of the Milwaukee Bucks! The couple is officially engaged and shared the news on February 18th after a romantic getaway to Turks & Caicos, a planned trip between the two of them where Winnie thought they were simply celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Kuzma chartered a private plane for their trip, which he had filled with roses, balloons, chocolate, and champagne. After takeoff, he read a hand-written poem to Harlow which ended with the line, “Will you marry me?”

Per Vogue, where the two shared their exclusive engagement story, Winnie recalls to herself: “For a split second in my head I thought, ‘This would be so cute if this was an engagement.’” It was right then when he popped the question! Upon landing, Harlow called her relatives on the phone who wouldn’t pick up her call - turns out they were waiting for her on the island, along with his family.

“I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything,” he said to Vogue. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her - something that way elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.

The ring is a juicy oval cut center, reported to weigh around 8.5ct. She is flanked on the sides with chubby tapered baguettes in a white metal, presumably platinum.

The two first met in March 2020, virtually, when Kuzma slid into Harlow’s DMs (which he had already done a year prior, to no response from her). Over quarantine, the two spoke 24/7 until about a month later when Harlow decided to move from New York to Los Angeles to be with Kuzma, where he was playing with the Lakers at the time. Clearly it was meant to be, as the pair have been inseparable ever since.
