A Flower for a Flower: Lily's Dreamy Rose-Cut Diamond Ring

Lily Collins, star of Emily in Paris and daughter of music legend Phil Collins, got engaged to filmmaker and author Charlie McDowell in 2020. Charlie popped the question with an utterly breathtaking ring during a dreamy New Mexico getaway!

Charlie worked with jeweler Irene Neuwirth to design a solitaire unlike any other. The centerpiece? A rare, light-pink 3-ish ct rose-cut diamond set in a yellow-gold bezel. With their antique design and soft, glowing shimmer, rose-cut diamonds feel intimate and personal compared to the high-wattage sparkle of modern cuts (although we love our antique and brilliant cuts equally!). 

In September 2021, the couple exchanged vows at Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado, in a secluded forest surrounded by close friends and family. The intimate, nature-filled ceremony perfectly reflected their laid-back, refined vibe. And if you’re looking for ring pairing inspo, take notes! Lily masterfully paired her ER with a dainty bezel-set wedding band that balances out the chunkier ring band for a perfect blend of vintage romance and contemporary styling.

Unfortunately, in May 2023, Lily’s engagement ring and wedding band were stolen from a spa in West Hollywood. While the jewelry was never recovered, the design remains unforgettable, and it’s still one of the most chic engagement rings we’ve ever seen.
