ENGAGEMENT RING TALES

Ben Platt & Noah Galvin

Ben Platt and Noah Galvin's love story is pure magic, complete with matching rings, a joyful proposal, and a three-day wedding celebration. Here's how this Broadway power couple said "I do!"

A Broadway Love Story with Matching Rings and Endless Joy

This has to be the sweetest ERTs we’ve ever covered—Ben Platt (the multi-talented singer, actor, and writer known for his roles in Pitch Perfect, Theater Camp, and the musical Dear Evan Hansen) and Noah Galvin (also multi-talented singer, actor, and cutie-pie from The Good Doctor, Theater Camp, and Dear Evan Hansen).

While many fans think this Broadway power couple met in 2017 when Noah succeeded Ben in the titular role in the musical Dear Evan Hansen, they actually first crossed paths in 2014. Noah and some mutual friends were creating a web series and asked Ben to play a role, doing improv alongside Noah’s character. Ben and Noah reconnected and became close friends in 2017 on the set of Dear Evan Hansen when Noah transitioned into Ben’s role.

In March 2020, the two moved in together during the Covid-19 pandemic, and their relationship, which they were keeping quiet about, went from “0 to 60.” While fans had a pretty good idea that these two were dating, Noah and Ben confirmed on a podcast in May 2020 that they were in the early days of their relationship. A year later, Ben released a song about his partner titled "Imagine.”  When discussing his inspiration for the song with Rolling Stone, Ben revealed that “everyone has that person or people that make their world technicolor, fueling us with a love that can feel supernatural. The video is that feeling of cloud nine. For me, when I sing the song, it's for my boyfriend Noah."

In November 2022, Ben proposed! The engagement took place on a romantic candle-lit rooftop with flowers and string lights, where Ben presented Noah with a Grace Lee east-west diamond baguette bezel setting in a cigar-style band with two trapezoid-shaped emeralds on either side of the center stone. On Instagram, Ben captioned his post, “he agreed to hang out forever,” and Galvin’s caption read, “I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours.”

It gets even better—in May 2023, Noah proposed back to Ben with a failed scavenger hunt and a matching (but slightly different) ring, also from Grace Lee. Ben’s cigar-style band features a blue sapphire east-west baguette center stone with two trapezoid diamonds on either side. We love how this couple’s joy and authenticity radiate whenever we see them together.

During Labor Day of 2024, the two tied the knot with a three-day wedding where attendees were instructed to “dress to dance!” Lucky for us, the Platt-Galvin wedding was featured in Vogue so we could live vicariously through all the photos and stories. The love between these two and their families and friends is so special. Congratulations—here’s to their beautiful future together!
