A little Hermès backstory: the house started out in 1837 making harnesses and saddles, so buckles, bridles and chains have been part of its DNA from day one. Its most famous chain, the Chaîne d'Ancre, was dreamed up by Robert Dumas in 1937 after he spotted anchor chains on the Normandy coast. This curb link with its buckle clasp comes from that same equestrian-meets-everyday tradition, and it's every bit as cool.
