The story of Leda and the Swan comes to us from Greek mythology, when the Spartan princess Leda was seduced by a swan, who was actually Zeus in disguise (enamored by her beauty). The story has varied over time in its themes, meanings and depictions, but most commonly touches upon the notions of fate and sexuality. Jewelry house Zolotas depicts the poem in 22kt gold with Leda embracing the swan and what appears to be an angel at their feet. We love the horizontal make of the intaglio, and it has a beautiful form and weight. Gorgeous patina too!
