These vintage earrings are made in rich high-karat gold, with a great weight and rich patina to them. Each one is shaped like a small hoop ending in finely detailed lion heads — a classic symbol of strength and protection that’s been used in jewelry since ancient times.  The best part?  They clip on comfortably, so you don’t need pierced ears.

Lion motifs like these go all the way back to Greek and Roman jewelry, but they had a big comeback in the 1960s and ’70s when bold, gold statement pieces were everywhere.
