Truly one of the prettiest and classically art deco pieces we have had to offer in a fair while!  Two perfectly matched old European cut diamonds take center stage with this ring, flanked by old European melee and cabochon cut onyx on the shoulders.  On the finger, she is all elegance with a little sass.  A most unique and truly one-of-a-kind engagement ring or dinner ring out there!  Exemplifying a great 1920s jewel: crisp geometry, old-cut diamond sparkle, and perfect gemstone contrast.

The design is pure Art Deco with bold onyx accents framing the shoulders - the perfect black-and-white contrast Deco collectors love. 

The toi et moi style has one of the most romantic origin stories in jewelry. The design became famous in 1796, when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to Joséphine de Beauharnais with a two-stone ring set with a pear-shaped sapphire and diamond. The concept was beautifully simple: two stones, two people, one shared story. Since then, the style has been worn by some of the most stylish women in history, including Jacqueline Kennedy, whose Van Cleef & Arpels engagement ring paired a diamond with an emerald.

More recently, celebrity toi et moi rings have brought the look roaring back, but antique versions like this one have the soul, craftsmanship, and collector appeal that new rings can only aspire to.
