The story of Greek jewelry house Zolotas spans over a century. From the very beginning, founder Efthimios Zolotas had always wanted to be his country's greatest jeweler. He studied in France to study under master jewelers and upon his return to Greece, opened his first store in Athens. In the following decade, Zolotas gained a distinguished clientele composed of the Grecian elite. The Zolotas jewelry house produced the vast majority of all important jewelry in the country, from the Greek royal family to the wealthy businessmen.
But perhaps Zolotas' greatest gift was his had higher dreams for his jewelry house. He hired the country's greatest jewelers founded a school wherein each atelier had an apprentice under their tutelage, passing down their knowledge and skills. The jewelry house produced jewels of impeccable quality and craftsmanship, and remains highly coveted.
This lion ring from Zolotas' "Heritage Collection" is a great collector's piece, with its diamond collar and seemingly docile facial expression. I imagine this ring on the right hand, and perhaps worn on the index finger. The ring is a hefty, very solidly made piece of jewelry - I adore just how bold it is! Set with ruby eyes, with a charming rose cut diamond collar. Fully stamped.
