Grace Kelly

Here at Jewels by Grace, we love a good princess bride story. And the one that trumps them all is of course Grace Kelly. A self made woman, and Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite blond beauty, Grace Kelly was destined for more than just stardom, she was meant for royalty and prestige.

In 1956, she met Prince Rainier III of Monaco during the Cannes Film Festival and captured his attention. They corresponded through letters for several months and after a visit to her family’s house in Pennsylvania, he proposed to her three days later. When he popped the question, he used a Cartier ruby and diamond eternity band. Although we are 100% sure that ring was stunning, he quickly realized that Grace Kelly deserved something that would easily stand out in the Hollywood glam lifestyle she had grown accustomed to. She then got a second engagement ring, the one she would never take off.

This ring was a real show stopper, also made by Cartier. Grace Kelly and the family of Monaco were huge Cartier fans. She wore a tiara and necklace to her two weddings made by the iconic French jewelry house. The ring was fit for a princess and boasts a 10.47 emerald cut diamond center stone flanked by two baguette cut diamonds. Created in platinum so our leading lady could wear it every single day and she did just that. You can even bear witness to the legendary rock in High Society. The ring is now worth $4.3 million and is one of the most beautiful examples of famous engagement rings in our opinion. Grace Kelly was a symbol of modern perfection, and her ring was perfectly suited to that.
